Today we had a visit from the lovely Gemma from The Abilities in Me. Gemma travelled from Hertfordshire in London to talk to us about how we are all special and have unique abilities.
Gemma is the author of a series of books that explain different conditions at a child's level and promote better understanding on a wider level. All the stories that Gemma writes are based on real family situations and their child's condition.
Our very own Kiona in P2 introduced us to Gemma's books and from this Miss Duffy got in touch with Gemma about arranging a visit. Gemma presented an assembly to our whole school and explained the rationale behind her books and how in the last 3 years she has written over 20 books that explore different types of needs.
Before leaving St. Theresa's, Gemma look the time to sign Kiona's book. AND... she donated an entire set of books to us. To say we are forever grateful is an understatement. Gemma is an inspiration and her assembly today was fantastic. We hope to see you again Gemma. Kiona misses you already.
